New on DVD: Saw IV, Loaded and Blonde Ambition
A North Texas-connected indie and two studio releases highlight this week's offerings.
Hitting the shelves at your local video store this week are a couple of recent Hollywood releases and one ambitious indie from a North Texas resident.
According to Erick Gosse, writer and star of the independent feature Loaded, he and his fellow filmmakers had a deal lined up with a major studio for the release and distribution of their mayhem-heavy crime thriller. That deal fell through, but the movie will now see distribution on DVD through Westlake Entertainment after playing in limited run in select cities.
PegNews theater maven Shawn Parikh reviewed Saw IV and Blonde Ambition when they released theatrically and found them both reminiscent of a line from Apocalypse Now: "The horror... the horror..."

Small correction: ran into Erick Gosse (see <i>Loaded</i>, above) at the Paris event last night and he informed me that his movie will not release on DVD until NEXT week (Jan. 29). Apparently the distributor had some kind of scheduling issue.
