Dallas ISD hosts youth mentoring kickoff
Event is co-sponsored by the DISD and Big Brothers Big Sisters
DALLAS The Dallas Independent School District’s Parent Services and School Choice Department will gather with community organizations and businesses for a Youth Mentoring Kickoff, at 8 a.m., Thursday, January 24, in the board room in the Administration Building.
"We want to invite local business and community leaders to join Dallas ISD and Big Brothers Big Sisters in becoming a big brother or big sister student advocate who will motivate and encourage students to go to college and be workforce ready," said Student Advocacy and Mentoring Coordinator Rachel Moon.
Superintendent of Schools Michael Hinojosa, district and Big Brothers Big Sisters representatives, mentors and students, who are already a part of the mentoring program, will be present during the kickoff.
