Bedford just says NO to urban gas drilling

Go Bedford! Go Go Go!!!

You are the reigning hero of urban drilling foes. You embolden hope for the downtrodden and apathetic of Fort Worth and other oppressed towns in the Barnett Shale. You embrace principle in the face of potential lawsuits. You have chosen people over profits. Your challenge of medieval mineral rights law, never intended for urban dwellers, is heroic and long overdue.

The Star-Telegram editorial staff has declared war on FW and surrounding municipalities such as Bedford with their unequivocal endorsement of urban drilling and their support for mineral rights over the greater good, well being, health and safety of Barnett Shale residents.

The reasons for defending neighborhoods from urban drilling are many and have been clearly defined, documented and demonstrated. The editorial staff of the S-T is way out of touch with anything other than the money side of the equation. That's not surprising considering they are in on the take in more ways than one.

God bless Bedford for saving their community from the foolishness of shortsighted greed. Despite the tyranny of the Star-Telegram/Chesapeake/Moncrief coalition, many of your neighbors support your actions and stand ready to come to your aid.

Most of all, God bless Bedford residents for their courage to demand a better world for themselves and their children and for challenging the status quo.

No one should accept a deal that they don't believe is in their best interest. Land owners should get at least a 50% royalty on production. See more at http://enjoygas.blogspot.com/.

Stand together or fall alone.
