DENTON Denton Rotary Club will hold a Mardi Gras Festival Feb. 9, at the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney, 6:30 – 10:30 p.m. Proceeds from the fun event will go to: United Way of Denton County, Interfaith Ministries, and Habitat for Humanity. Last year was the festival’s first year and it was fun and incredibly successful. This year’s lineup of entertainment is even better than before. There will be plenty of good food, beer and wine, a silent auction with some amazing items, and “A Dancing with the Stars” contest. Entertainment is also provided by Ron Fink and the Bourbon Street Stompers. Local Denton celebrities, entrepreneurs, and elected officials have agreed to partner with the young ladies from TWU’s International Dance Company. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dance team. The results should prove interesting.
Tickets are $15.00 and available at the door, as well as Wells Fargo Bank, 101 S. Locust and DATCU-Credit Union, 225 W. Mulberry. Come as you are or come in costume. You’ll have a great time supporting three local non-profit organizations.
