The Executive Leadership & Development Institute seeks applicants for its 2008 class. This 10-month program trains emerging minority professionals for executive positions in public service organizations. It hones the capabilities of managers and administrators who have demonstrated achievement and potential.
The institute was created in 2006 by the North Texas chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) and the Hispanic Leadership Organization (HLO). Institute participants meet monthly at various Metroplex locations to hear presentations and practice skills. They also participate in a public-sector service project.
The City of Fort Worth is an institute partner and host. Presenters include elected and appointed leaders of area cities and agencies, business leaders, private and public consultants and university professors.
Several City of Fort Worth employees were among last year’s graduates, including Senior Human Resources Analyst Mona Braniff, Assistant City Attorney Maleshia Farmer and Business Development Coordinator Ossana Hermosillo.
Tuition is $500 for NFBPA and HLO members, $1,000 for nonmembers. Application deadline is Feb. 22. Further information and the application are at www.northtexasnfbpa.org.
