Art Conspiracy Donates $14,500 to St. Anthony’s Community Center in South Dallas

Art Conspiracy strives to put on guerilla-style, affordable art fundraisers and use the proceeds from these events to reinvest in the local arts economy.

Local art collective, Art Conspiracy, will make a donation of $14,500 to St. Anthony’s Community Center in Dallas on Wednesday, January 30, at 4:00 p.m. The money was raised through Art Conspiracy’s December 9, 2007, event that featured a live art auction of works from more than 120 artists and live music. The donation will be used to fund art and music programs at St. Anthony’s.

St. Anthony’s Community Center provides a variety of after school and weekend activities, with an emphasis on fine arts programming, for more than 800 underserved children inSouth Dallas. “While many art programs are being ‘cut’ from school budgets, St. Anthony’s Community Center provides year-round, art-rich programs for children and youth, made possible through generous contributions from Art Conspiracy and others,” says Comfort Brown, Director, St. Anthony’s Community Center.

Art Conspiracy strives to put on guerilla-style, affordable art fundraisers and use the proceeds from these events to reinvest in the local arts economy. By doing this, Art Conspiracy works to unite the Dallas Fort Worth arts and music communities and raise awareness of the local arts scene.

Since 2005, Art Conspiracy has raised more than $34,000 for charities including St. Anthony’s Community Center, La Reunion, and The Children’s Health Fun. Art Conspiracy is in the process of getting its official 501(c)3 nonprofit status.
