DNA evidence IDs rapist in a 1982 case
DALLAS Among the 15 innocent exonerated by the Dallas County DA, Steven Charles Phillips served time for a 1982 rape that he confessed to, but did not commit, in hopes it would shorten his sentence. DNA evidence found the real perpetrator is Sidney Alvin Goodyear who died 10 years ago in prison.
