Actor Brendan Fraser and director Eric Brevig spent a day in Dallas last Thursday (June 26) talking to media folks about their upcoming feature film release, Journey to the Center of the Earth. The groundbreaking (get it?) 3D movie opens wide (*snicker*) on Friday, July 11, on which day we will post a review.
To tide you over, here's a short (10 minute) audio interview we conducted with Brendan and Eric.
During the course of our discussion, we touch on the following:
Interview: Brendan Fraser and Eric Brevig for Journey to the Center of the Earth
* Which is hotter: North Texas or the center of the earth?
* Eric's previous experience in the 3D film medium
* Origins of the 3D film camera rig (think: Titanic)
* Why the actors were all paid twice - but only at half-salary
* How they cast for the two kid actors who join Brendan's character on the journey
* What they learned from consulting the '59 filmed version of the classic Jules Verne adventure tale
* Teaser tales from the set of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
* (Can Jet Li still kick it?)
