Four Texas Rangers voted into the MLB All-Star game
Outfielder Josh Hamilton received the most fan votes for his position in the AL, coming in third behind Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter.
Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, second baseman Ian Kinsler, shortstop Michael Young, and outfielder/designated hitter Milton Bradley will all participate in July's MLB All-Star Game.
Hamilton received the most fan votes for his position with 3,708,709, edging out Boston Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez at the last minute. Fan voting was used to decide who would start in the 2008 ASG. Hamilton was the only Ranger voted in by the fans. He currently leads the MLB with 84 RBIs with a batting percentage of .309.
Kinsler, Young, and Bradley all received the most votes per position by other MLB players. Bradley will start as Designated Hitter for the American League team because Boston's David Ortiz is out with a wrist injury. Bradley leads the league in both on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
This is the first time the Rangers will have two players in the starting lineup since 2001. It is also the first time in franchise history that the club has sent four position players to the All-Star Game, second only to the Red Sox in total players (7) sent to the AL team this year.

Hamilton was the first Ranger elected to start in an All-Star Game since Teixeira in 2005 and the first outfielder since Juan Gonzalez.
Didn't Juan-Gone throw a fit a different year and decline his invitation b/c he wasn't a starter?
Sincerely hope Hambino slugs in the HR derby, btw.
