Texas Blues Radio to mark KNON’s 25th anniversary with a week of DFW blues

Dallas community radio station KNON 89.3 FM in Dallas will celebrate 25 years of broadcasting on Wednesday, July 30. To celebrate, KNON's Texas Blues Radio format, heard between 6 pm and 8 pm on the station, Monday through Friday, will be playing ONLY local Dallas/Fort Worth area blues artists during the week of July 28 through August 1. In addition to playing recordings by local artists, many local performers are scheduled to appear and perform live on the air during the week.
Artists scheduled to appear include:
Tuesday July 29: Hash Brown
Wednesday July 30: Mike Morgan
Thursday July 31: Blue Lisa with Rob Donovan, JMac with Gregg Smith
Friday August 1: K.M. Williams, Christian Dozzler
Additional live performers to be announced!
More than 60 different Dallas/Fort Worth blues performers and bands have released CDs in the last decade. Some of them have more than 10 releases and several tour nationally and internationally. There are well over 100 local blues performers and bands in the DFW area. KNON has released 4 DFW blues compilation CDs since 1997 featuring over 50 local artists. Volume 5 will be released later this year.
KNON is a non-profit non-commercial community radio station operating in Dallas since 1983. More than 70 different programs are presented weekly, all by unpaid volunteers. Local music is an important part of our diverse programming schedule which includes, reggae, country, gospel, hip hop, latin energy, jazz, R&B, talk, african, and rock, as well as blues. Nearly every format on KNON includes local releases as part of our regular programming.
