Arlington ISD chief under scrutiny for lavish event spending
With the background of a $20 million shortfall in next year's Arlington ISD school budget, Superintendent Hector Montenegro finds himself under scrutiny after charging $5,000 to his school district credit card in the course of participating in educational conferences in February and March of 2008.
Included amongst the $5,000 worth of charges is a toothsome tab amounting to $3,025 for a dinner at a San Diego steakhouse, attended by 37 others, including Arlington teachers.
