Atomic Cavegirls of Island Zero

Pocket Sandwich Theatre is known in DFW for mainly one awesome gimmick: popcorn-tossing comedy. And this weekend, they are opening a new show which allows the audience to throw their popcorn on the stage at the actors. Atomic Cavegirls of Island Zero will be running from July 11 - August 23 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 7:00 p.m.
The first manned flight to the Planet Jupiter goes astray, and the intrepid astronauts crash upon a prehistoric world of: Monsters! Beautiful half-clad women! And other deadly menaces! Call 214-821-1860 for reservations.

West Fest Polka Festival Westfest kicks off the weekend Friday evening with the Miss Westfest Contest. Gates to the fairground (in West, Texas, south on I-35 just beyond Hillsboro) open at 5:30 p.m., and you can hang out touring the food booths until the 12:30 a.m. closing.
