Rumored locations of specific Starbucks closing in Dallas area are surfacing
The Seattle Times has a map of some of the 600-or-so branches of Starbucks stores that are closing between now and March 2009. A Starbucks employee in Texas who wrote to the Seattle paper claimed that 13 stores are closing in northern Texas and southern Oklahoma, including:
- the second floor of NorthPark Center;
- at 14891 Preston Road in North Dallas;
- at 635 and Montfort Drive;
- at 635 and Coit Road;
- at Coit Road and 190 in Plano;
- at 13901 Midway Road in Farmers Branch.
Meanwhile, it was reported on Eats that an employee at the store on Lower Greenville claimed his branch was closing as well.

You mean to tell me that if you're working on your indie cred at Urban Outfitters and you need your venti triple shot no foam skim sugar free hazelnut latte, you'll be forced to walk all the way to the first level? OUTRAGE!

meh. I use the Vanilla Iced Coffee at Mc D's, I haven't been to a Starbucks in this country in over a year I reckon. I know people who were brought to their knees by this but if I can drink my own coffee I can drink anything.

What a joke. A meeting place for entrepreneurs!
No parking and slowest baristas in town. I waited 10 minutes for a soy latte a month ago at 10:30am mid-week. There was one person in front of me. The cashier and the barista were chatting as if they hadn't seen each other in 15 years.
10 minutes!!!

it always slays me how people project their own nonsense onto starbucks. like this petition ... "sending Starbucks a message", "fostering community" etc ... just hilarious.
if these folks care so deeply about their community, maybe they should stop with the petition and open their own coffee place in the very same spot, instead of assuming that starbucks owes them something

I've bought a cup of coffee at Starbucks maybe 5 times in my life. I'm thinking that has saved me over the years more money than your average high maintenence charge-a-holic trophy spouse with a coke habit would have cost.

Does anyone know at what point Starbucks became the official barometer for measuring quality of life in a neighborhood?

I am a small shareholder in SBUX and I think this is great. I wish they would close more and focus on quality and not quantity.

Starbucks released a list of the first round of store closures. The only one in the Dallas-area on the list is No. 10877 at 3403 Illinois Ave. at the corner of Westmoreland, which hadn't turned up in any of the various rumors
