DALLAS Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, back-up care, early education, and work/life solutions, is developing a state-of-the-art child care center at the Plaza of Americas in the heart of downtown Dallas. Scheduled to open in early 2009, the new center will provide full-service and back-up child care and education for children ages six weeks to 12. Local businesses can sponsor spots at the center for their employees, without making a bricks and mortar financial investment.
"As part of the revitalization of Downtown Dallas, we are experiencing exponential growth in the downtown residential population, to the tune of 30,000 who live downtown today," explains John Crawford, President and CEO of DOWNTOWNDALLAS. "In addition, our already 135,000-person workforce is growing thanks to a recent surge of corporate relocations. Both of these phenomenon make child care an issue of great importance to downtown, and Bright Horizons will be an excellent addition to the downtown community."
Several Dallas businesses have signed on with Bright Horizons to offer their employees a convenient and high-quality child care program at the Downtown Dallas center, including Thompson & Knight, Haynes and Boone, Baker Botts, and Hunton & Williams. In addition to being available for local businesses to offer as a benefit to their employees, families who live or work in the community may enroll their children at the center.
"We are excited to open the first child-care center in downtown Dallas to offer care on either a full-time or back-up basis. The enthusiastic response to the center among Dallas businesses has proven there is great demand for a high-quality child care center located in the heart of the business district," said Sandy Shrader-Wells, Senior Vice President, Client Services, Bright Horizons, and co-founder of Cradle to Crayons, a Dallas child-care company that became part of the Bright Horizons family in 1992.
Bright Horizons Family Solutions -- the world's leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, back-up care, early education, and work/life solutions -- operates more than 600 child-care and early education centers across the U.S., in Europe, and Canada, including more than 80 dedicated back-up child-care centers and more than 45 back-up care programs within full-service child-care centers.
