Two Dallas-area food operations, Market Street and Dessert Dreams of Irving, win national award
Market Street won for best chain operator or restaurant concept, and Dessert Dreams won for best pastry shop.
The American Culinary Federation announced its annual Achievement of Excellence Awards, with two Dallas-area businesses among the 16 that won.
- Market Street in Plano won for Best Chain Operator or Restaurant Concept;
- and Dessert Dreams of Irving won for Best Pastry Shop or Bakery.
Other Texas restaurants that won include InterContinental Houston for Best Hotel Restaurant and River House Tea Room of Gruene in the Casual Dining category.
The ACF spotlights restaurants nationwide that "exemplify a commitment to excellence in their area. Criteria for the award included being in operation for at least five consecutive years, nomination by an ACF chapter, member or individual in the food-service profession and being a recognized industry leader."
