Corinth police and other regional emergency response personnel responded to an accident this afternoon (7/15) involving a rock hauler traveling northbound on I-35E, which left the roadway and crashed down a steep embankment on the east side of the highway (near Post Oak Drive).

The driver ended up pinned beneath the wreckage; at the time of posting he'd been extricated and transported to Harris Methodist Hospital by Care Flight. Three firefighters who participated in the extrication were also taken to hospitals suffering from heat exhaustion.

The removal of the crashed truck is expected to take until 3 p.m., so delays going both north and southbound on I-35E can be expected at least until then.
