Farmers Branch lifeguards take first place at North Texas competition
FARMERS BRANCH Excelling at their skill, four city of Farmers Branch lifeguards took first place overall at the North Texas Guard Games competition in Lewisville, July 11 and 12.
Kyle Coffelt, Stephen Holcombe, Hannah Smith and Lena Waters competed against 26 other teams in seven events for the top honors. Of the seven events, the team received gold medals in First Aid and Passive Victim Rescue with CPR and an Automated External Defibrillator. The Farmers Branch team will head to San Antonio July 22 to compete in the Texas Games State Championship.
