— Two Ryan High teachers were selected to score the College Board’s Advanced Placement tests.

Ryan High AP calculus teacher, Mark Kiraly, scored the College Board’s Advanced Placement calculus exam in Kansas City, Mo.

Georgianne Burlage, Ryan High AP world history teacher, was selected to score the College Board’s Advanced Placement world history exam in Fort Collins, Colorado.

According to the AP Program, the teachers selected for this honor are among the top high school and college educators in the United States, Canada and abroad. About 2.8 million exams in 22 subject areas were evaluated by more than 10,000 readers from universities and high schools.

The reading draws upon the talents of some of the finest teachers and professors that the world has to offer, stated Trevor Packer, executive director of the Advanced Placement Program at the College Board.

The program fosters professionalism, allows for the exchange of ideas and strengthens the commitment to students and to teaching.

“We are very grateful for the contributions of talented educators like Mark Kiraly and Georgianne Burlage,” Mr. Packer said.
