— Sachse Public Library is hosting a teen "lock-in" overnight on Saturday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m., ending Sunday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. Teens ages 13 to 17 are welcome to spend the night at the Library where there'll be games, snacks, and lots of fun.

"This is the first time we've had a teen lock-in," says Dolores Greenwall, director of library services, who previously helped host a teen talent show. "I don't know of any other area libraries that are doing it. Having a lock-in was the kids' idea. They have taken the ball and run with it. I just try to provide guidance, along with teacher Patrice King, who is on the library board."

The event will start after the library is closed. There'll be movies set up in one area and a game box in the other with Rock Band and Dance Dance Revolution.

"I've already been given a snack and food list that includes soda and Monster drinks," Greenwall says.

Members of Friends of the Library will come and help out with overnight supervision.

"I'm going to sleep as much as I can on Saturday during the day," Greenwall says.

For more information, call the Library at 972-530-8966.
