Tarrant County College offers installment plan option to pay tuition

0

Beginning next month, students taking Continuing Education classes at Tarrant County College will have the option to pay tuition using an installment plan.

Students using the new plan, which becomes available Aug. 15 for classes beginning after Sept. 1, may make a monthly payment by automatic bank payment, credit card, or debit card. There is a $25 enrollment fee per term, but no interest is charged for payments paid using the installment plan. A $25 returned payment fee will be charged if a payment is returned.

“This new service provides continuing education students, many who are seeking retraining or career changes after losing a job in the current economic downturn, an affordable alternative to pay for short-term, high-demand career and technical training,” said Northeast Vice President of Continuing Education Services Troy Vaughn. “This installment plan will be particularly helpful to students who may not have the resources or time to attend a traditional educational program.”

The required down payment and number of payments varies depending on when students enroll. Those enrolled by Aug. 22 are required only to make a 10 percent down payment and have three months to make payments from September to November to pay the balance. A 50 percent down payment is required for those who do not enroll until Oct. 23, with the balance due in November.

Students may enroll through the TCC Web site at www.tccd.edu. They should click on the “current students” or “former students” link on the left side of the page and follow the directions.

Customer service representatives are available Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Questions may be directed to the Continuing Education office on each campus: Northeast, 817-515-6208; Northwest, 817-515-7700; South, 817-515-4555 and Southeast, 817-515-3060.
