Dali Wine Bar in Dallas’ new Arts Plaza building recycles wine corks
Dali Wine Bar & Cellar, located at One Arts Plaza, has set in motion a plan to recycle wine and Champagne corks that have been recently popped during daily service. The source and navigating company behind recycling of these corks is Yemm & Hart LTD from Fredericktown Missouri—with corks being put to good use.
All corks received at Yemm & Hart are unpacked and sorted into pure cork and non-cork material. The non-cork material is donated to an area teacher's recycling center, so kids get a chance to be creative with it. This is an expensive manual process that adds value to the collected corks. The pure cork is then weighed and recorded by each restaurant's name. The attractive ending result for many of these recycled corks is none other than….cork floor tiles. "Guests can quickly look at our entrance counter and main bar to view our commitment to recycling natural corks," states Dali owner and General Manager, Paul Pinnell. "It’s not only corks, but all things sustainable and natural that makes up the core of the Dali culture—driven by the freshest of artisanal products."
