Every once in awhile it's fun to bite into a jalapeno.

I tend to use the serrano peppers most often, especially in my fresh salsa. I may have to set aside a corner in my herb garden to grow my own.
Fooey. Hope they get it settled soon. That canned salsa is nasty when you are accustomed to fresh.

Grande Produce of Hidalgo, Texas has issued a recall of its jalapeno and serrano peppers distributed between May 17th and July 17th, plus avocados, all sizes, distributed to the following states: TX, DE, NC, GA, OK, IA, MN, IL, FL, IN, MD, NY, MS, AR, KS, and KY. The Texas Dept. of State Health Services and The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services revealed that these products contained the bacteria. An investigation continues as to the source of the problem. Grande Produce is "waiting for tests" before releasing a list of customers (stores and restaurants, mostly).

I think the next administration needs to make Michael Pollan head of the FDA.
