An 18-year-old Argyle man was arrested in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving an underage girl.

Riley Ledbetter is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at a pool party last Thursday morning in the 1000 block of Prairie Trail.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a witness said that she caught Ledbetter having sex with the underage girl in the bed of a pickup truck. The witness told police that the girl had passed out and was unconscious during the incident.

Ledbetter was arrested Friday and charged with one count of sexual assault. He later bonded out of jail on a $35,000 cash surety bond.

Ledbetter is a rising senior at Argyle High School and was an offensive lineman on the Argyle Eagles varsity football team last year.

UPDATE: Riley Ledbetter's mother Joanie calls to report that, on Dec. 5, 2008, the 367th District Court in Denton County returned a no bill on the charge, and released Mr. Ledbetter given the fact that there were no additional charges against him.
