Chesapeake coloring book stresses patriotism and affordability to DFW’s youngest energy consumers
In another attempt to infiltrate the hearts and minds of DFW's energy-consuming public, Chesapeake Energy has put together an informative coloring book. Featuring the canine character Chesapeake Charlie, this series of black-lined photos details the natural gas exploration and drilling process for curious kids.
While we don't have to worry about Tommy Lee Jones' clean-burning gaze staring down upon us for much longer, there will be no shortage of propaganda making its way into North Texans' daily lives. In fact, there is something Barnett Shale for nearly every step of your life.
As a youngster you can romp through the Barnett Shale with Charlie, adding color and creativity to this blank slate of energy possibility while learning just how abundant, affordable, and American natural gas can be. After a few years, you will have learned a sufficient amount about natural gas drilling and been trained to color inside the Chesa-lines. Once armed with such knowledge, the time will come to put it to the test through a variety of middle and high school projects. If you do well enough, maybe when you get to college you can start to make some money interning with Chesapeake or one of the other local drilling companies. As the arthritis sets in, you can rest your bones while watching beloved news personalities presenting fair, balanced, and informational coverage on all that is shale.
But, what about the babies, you ask. There's nothing for the babies. Until now...
Thanks to a Pegasus News user for forwarding the coloring book.

Of the cavalcade of offenses in this kiddie propaganda is that a company called Chesapeake uses a Beagle as its mascot.
On second thought, Banjo tells me that no self-respecting Chesapeake Bay Retriever would participate.

Awww! Good dog!
My favorite line in the book is “As your children engage with the book, you can help enrich their experience by following along.”
Subtext – Maybe then you will stop calling our office with all of your asinine questions.
