Arlington ISD investigating former superintendent and HOPE Foundation
Arlington ISD Superintendent Hector Montenegro resigned on Monday amid scrutiny over professional fees he accepted from various educational foundations. The ISD has now requested files from the Hope Foundation, who the school district believes may have paid Montenegro during his tenure as superintendent, which is illegal. Depending on what the foundation provided, the district may seek to recover up to $240,000.
