Fort Worth man scams free gas out of good Samaritans
Gas scams are the new black.
After noticing a driver stranded for the third time at the intersection of Stadium Drive and South Hills Avenue, a Fort Worth police officer decided to investigate.
What he found out was that the man, who chose the location for its proximity to a gas station, would pretend to run out of gas in his older model Cadillac and ask passers-by to help him out. When the police officer ran the man's plates, he discovered that the man had outstanding class C warrants. While arresting the scam artist, a good Samaritan drove up with a can of gas for the "stranded driver." They discovered four cans full of donated petrol in the trunk of the Cadillac.
