Dallas Housing Authority will stop accepting housing applications & start offering rental vouchers

— On August 11, the Dallas Housing Authority will temporarily stop accepting applications from people who want to live in city-owned housing, though the process will resume in a few months. At the same time, the DHA will start accepting applications for rental assistance vouchers. Vouchers are available only to black people who want to rent in predominantly white neighborhoods. Applications must be made online during the week of August 11-17.

Um, wonder what internet penetration is among those who are seeking rental assistance.

Better make that broadband, since the DHA site is Flash.

I bet the city council was thinking the same thing (about market penetration) when they set up the 'Rename Industrial' poll.
