Gas drillers gambling that Barnett Shale will yield fruit in Dallas County
Several natural gas drilling companies are taking the chance that gas can be found well into Dallas County, although a formation called the Ouachita Thrust may prevent them from succeeding. Trinity East Drilling recently put a well in to see what they could find, while they and XTO Energy are also looking to buy the rights to drill around Love Field and other land owned by the city of Dallas. Chesapeake Energy has already had success drilling in Dallas County, thanks to its seven wells on the 18,000 acres they lease around the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport.
Drillling...Ouachita Thrust... Do these guys want natural gas or are they just sexually frustrated?
