The perpetrator or perpetrators of an ill-fated attempt to make off with an ATM machine remained at large early as of 5:45 Tuesday morning.
McKinney police responded to a call from a Walgreens pharmacy at 1651 E. University Dr. at approximately 3:44 a.m. where they found the front door smashed, the parking lot littered with glass, and a thick 40-foot chain wrapped around an ATM machine just inside the front door.
On the ground in front of the door and fasted to the other end of the chain was a rusted trailer hitch that was apparently ripped from the undercarriage of the Dodge Caravan that sat motionless and abandoned in front of the store.

Though the police established a perimeter around the drugstore and dispatched a K-9 unit to the scene, the perpetrator(s), assumed to be on foot, had not yet been apprehended.
Sgt. R. Meyers working the scene didn’t hold out much hope that the van would lead police to any suspects. He said thieves usually steal a vehicle in an ATM heist and then abandon it after they make off with a machine.
Store employees were unavailable for comment.

So, when you fail to be a successful member of society, you turn to crime.

Would appreciate any updates or information regarding this incident or perhaps they are not investigating anymore the van that was stolenwas mine and they tore it up and had seats stolen out of it and windows broken and tools inside which I assume will never be recoverd and meanwhile I am out almost $200 for getting it out of the pound it was stolen out of mesquite and was my deceased grandmothers van which is beyond more than just sentimental value please help if possible and the mckinney police department never informed us this was what had happened until we got to the pound and now we would like an update on our seats and tools that were taken how do we go about finng out. mckinney said they were dismissing the investigation on the theft tomesquite and i am assuming mckinneu will charge the culprits with the attempted theft of the atm i have a problem with a 24 hr walgreens and someone simply walks in and wraps a chain around an atm with nobody on the inside seeing them thank god for the rusty trailer hitch or they would have gotten it and probably tried to question me about it they told me no glass was broken and asked me what tools were in it so what do I do to recoop my seats and tools and am i fighting a losing cause this van had just been registered and stickered and was a gift to me from my now deceased grandmother i know there are alot of sick individuals in this life who has no regards for other humans so my question is what should I do from here thank you for any help you may be able to give me it is ppreciated more than you could ever know respectfully c.l. anderson.

Looks like its a pretty dead case - a done deal huh? Well that pretty much figures - try to get an ATM out of a 24 hr.Walgreens and got as far as putting the chain around machine while employees are surpriingly supposed to be working so what happened to the clerk who works the front door - surely they didnt see them and assume they were playingf a game. Whats this world coming to????
