United Title of Texas shuts down
United Title of Texas, one of the largest title insurance companies in Texas, shut down on July 29. It was a subsidiary of Mercury Companies Inc., based in Denver. Mercury shut down all locations outside its home base of Colorado, including Arizona, California, and Texas. The Texas division had 27 offices including Bedford, Hurst, North Richland Hills, and Southlake, and approximately 200 employees, all of whom got laid off.
