FC Dallas dropped another game and another spot in the conference on the road to the Colorado Rapids in Denver on Sunday afternoon. Dallas was missing some key players to injury, red cards, and international games, and despite the best efforts of their replacements, it showed.

Despite Oduro's 44th minute goal, Dallas unable to rally for the win.

Despite Oduro's 44th minute goal, Dallas unable to rally for the win.

The Rapids took an early lead as Conor Casey juked Dallas defender Duilio Davino in the box, slotting the ball just under goalkeeper Ray Burse in the 7th minute of play. From there, the rest of the first half appeared fairly sluggish, as both teams looked tired and over-extended. Opportunities on goal from both sides missed their mark until the 44th minute when Dallas found the equalizer. Marcelo Saragosa managed a shot from 12 yards out on a corner kick, but his shot hit Dominic Oduro. Oduro, however, managed to regain the ball and find the back of the net.

Despite a livened effort from the Dallas side, Colorado would be the only team to convert their work into a goal. In the 72nd minute, Tom McManus, who'd had numerous failed opportunities on net in the half, beat Duilio Davino after a misplayed Dallas header, and snaked a near post goal past and outstretched, but ill-positioned Burse.

The loss puts Dallas in fifth place in the MLS Western Conference, but a mere one point out of second.
