Lori Allison
Lori Allison
Lori Allison has been named principal of Johnson Elementary School. Trustees approved her hiring during a June 2 School Board meeting. Allison replaces Jane Cousins, who announced her retirement earlier this spring after 23 years with the District.
Allison has worked in Carroll ISD for 17 years, and has served in a variety of capacities - most recently as the interim principal of Old Union Elementary School since March of this year. Prior to that, she was the Coordinator of K-5 Curriculum & Instruction for the District for two years and the Assistant Principal at Carroll Elementary School for seven years. She was a member of the Johnson team for eight years teaching second and third grades. Prior to becoming a Dragon, Allison was a classroom teacher in San Marcos CISD and Austin ISD.
“Mrs. Allison’s knowledge of the District is invaluable,” Superintendent Dr. David J. Faltys said. “She is a proven leader of Dragon students and staff members and we’re thrilled she’s bringing her expertise to the Johnson Elementary family.”
Allison earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas and her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. Allison’s husband, David, is a Science teacher at Dawson Middle School. They have two children who are Carroll graduates. The Allisons reside in Keller.

Mary Johnston
Mary Johnston has been named principal of Old Union Elementary School. Trustees approved her hiring during a June 2 School Board meeting.
Johnston is a former Dragon employee - having served previously as an Assistant Principal at Johnson Elementary and Eubanks Intermediate. She’s most recently been the Principal of Walnut Hill Elementary in Dallas ISD. Before coming to Carroll in 2000, Johnston taught Spanish to first through 10th graders at Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth.
“We’re extremely glad to welcome Mrs. Johnston back to Carroll,” said Superintendent Dr. David J. Faltys. “With her leadership style and dedication to kids, she has just the right combination of skills to lead the students and staff of Old Union.”
Johnston is an active member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association, and was the organization’s 2007-2008 President of Region 11.
Johnston earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Texas at Arlington and her Master’s in Educational Administration from Texas Christian University. She will defend her doctoral dissertation from the University of Texas at Austin in January 2009.
Johnston and her husband have two children. They reside in Grapevine.

Wilson has been a member of the Dawson staff since 2002. He taught Science and was a department chair before being named Assistant Principal in 2005. Before coming to Carroll, Wilson taught middle school Science in Lewisville ISD for two years.
“Mr. Wilson’s enthusiastic approach and passion for middle school education made him the perfect fit for the job,” said Superintendent Dr. David J. Faltys. “His leadership is a valuable asset to the District and we’re looking forward to his continued work with our Dawson Middle team.”
Wilson earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science with an emphasis in Education from Texas A&M University. He later earned his Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas.
