Smelly pooper causes evacuation at DFW Airport

Some things cause more of a stink than others.

Some things cause more of a stink than others.

DFW Airport administrative employees were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a "suspicious odor" was detected. Authorities suspect the cause of the smell was "probably material put into the sewer system to alleviate a bad odor."

Listen, we've all been there. It can be pretty embarrassing to drop a stinker and have your coworkers snicker at you behind your back. But what you don't do is flush potpourri or a can of Glade or whatever this person did and stink up the whole building, and not just the bathroom. C'mon, people, it's just common sense.

Umm...

I'm under the impression 'pooper' is slang for your rear-end. 'Crapper' seems more appropriate, imo.

I'm sure you're thinking to yourself, "Wow, does he really have nothing better to do?" I assure you I do, but I care enough about the integrity of PN that I felt the distinction is paramount (at least, per my personal connotation and the almighty http://UrbanDictionary.com).

Sincere apologies, Alex. I mean no disrespect.

Maybe they mean that the person responsible for the original smell, and the cover-up odor, is the one responsible for the evacuation, as well.

Actually, I was intimating something from the story that may or may not be true, that some anonymous individual dropped a stinker and attempted to cover it up by putting some unknown material in the toilet. So, pooper was my intended word and I stand by it.

Now, this is the type of story that we'll probably never hear from again, so we may never find out exactly what happened. Your use of crapper may turn out to be more appropriate, yet seems less fun, IMO.

I look forward to more pooper vs. crapper debates with you, Doyle.

It's certainly a fine line.

Since poop & crap are both nouns describing fecal matter, I'd think adding 'er' means they can be used interchangeability in whatever context you'd like to place them in. Personal recollection of other people using these terms dictates otherwise, though.

And honestly, if you sway either way it still makes sense. Simply thought I'd bring to the table that when I read the headline, I immediately thought someone dropped their pants and took a dump in the middle of the airport (rather than in a toilet).

Err, interchangeably (heh, automatic spell check for the loss). Interchangeability is a helluva word, though.

Someone made a stink and decided to freshen it up? I have no faith in anyone being that considerate in a public bathroom.

Although, I guess since everything's a bell curve, if someone decides that rofldoodling in a circle is a good idea, someone on the other end of the spectrum might be nice enough to use air freshener.

I considered using 'rofldoodle' but thought better of it and stuck with 'dump'.

He went there.

Doyle, just thought you'd like to know that if you Google "rofldoodle," your comment comes up #1 (although #2 might be more appropriate). The link goes to our movie section for some reason, though. Congrats!

Good to see I've bested Pavel for no apparent reason (and also worked my way into Theaters simply for saying something that has no place in our language).

Hopefully this is the end of that saga.
