FRISCO A Frisco man advertised his gray 2004 Lexus IS 300, only to have it stolen at Stonebriar Mall by the respondent.
The victim agreed to meet the suspect on Friday, May 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the north parking lot of Macy’s in the 2600 block of Preston Road and according to Frisco Police Sgt. Gerald Meadors, meeting publicly was the wise thing to do.
Meadors said that he has not heard of similar thefts occurring in Frisco or elsewhere, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Heh, tried to see if the listing was still up. This one from G & H Auto Group is the only gray '04 I saw.
Wouldn't be surprised if things of this nature happened relatively frequently.

Craigslist of rules didn't help obviously. Kay's list of rules about Craigslist: DON'T ADVERTISE ANYTHING ON CRAIGSLIST.
I've mixed feelings about meeting strangers even in the Police Station parking lot.... but maybe INSIDE the building? In some departments police in underpaid positions are sometimes looking for extra income, I guess you could just HIRE an off-duty policeman to 'oversee' the meeting in their lot?

What's wrong with strangers? One story about someone stealing a car doesn't translate about the rest of the world being out to get you.

Unless they sent you to lull her into a false sense of security.

Sometimes, Pavel, Strangers are just friends we haven't met yet....
...Sometimes Strangers ARE "out-to-getcha".
BTW Uh...Just for the record... I haven't bought any fresh tomatoes recently, Scott Doyle.
Thanks, Brett. I might have been lulled.

In Frisco, this is a very rare incident. Frisco is probably one of the safest places you can live!

Sale...Frisco is Stepford.
I'm a girl on a Harley; no tattoos, no piercings...in other words, I'm rather safe looking. I once pulled to a light on 121 outside of Stonebriar Mall and some female in an SUV next to me made a big to do about locking her doors.
I was thinking to myself, "You crazy broad, by the time I get the kickstand down and center the bike in order to carjack you the bloody light will have changed."
I'll take Deep Ellum any day over the facade that is Frisco.

Kay, for the record, I ate almost a plate-full of tomatoes on Wednesday and I'm still kickin'. Literally covered my salad with slices of 'em, and enjoyed every bite.
Raine, if you were alone...I gotta say I'd raise an eyebrow to a normal looking lady on a Harley all by her lonesome right next to Stonebriar.

I have listed and sold several cars on Craigslist. I also live in Frisco. So far, nothing has happened like that to me.
