FC Dallas fell behind by two goals in the first 22 minutes of play on Friday, and despite a concerted attack, were unable to bring back the win. New England's Adam Christman opened scoring with a goal in the fifth minute, finishing a diving header off Sainey Nyassi's cross. FC Dallas had an offsides goal called back immediately afterwards, and from there New England missed a prime opportunity in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute, however, Drew Moor was called for a foul on a Rev's corner kick, awarding New England and Steve Ralston an easily finished penalty kick.
Though nearly doubling New England's shooting, FC Dallas wasn't able to find the net until the 91st minute when Arturo Alvarez, who entered the game in the 70th minute, hammered home Dominic Oduro's cross. Though FCD pulled within one, the game would end with the deficit, keeping them in fifth place in the MLS Western Conference.

NOTES:
FC Dallas’ record is 3-4-5, 13 pts., remaining in fifth place of the Western Conference.
FCD is now 9-21-1 all-time versus New England and 5-10-0 at Gillette Stadium.
Dallas is 1-3-2 on the road this season.
Arturo Alvarez’s goal in the 91st minute ties his career high of three goals (2006, 2007). It was the second tally by an FCD player in second half stoppage time this season. Dominic Oduro scored the first, the game-winner against Real Salt Lake on May 24.
Oduro registered his first assist of the season, the third of his career.
Duilio Davino and Cooper are the only players to have started all twelve games this season. Cooper has played all but 12 minutes and Davino has played all but 44 minutes.
Defender Adrian Serioux and midfielder Andre Rocha returned to the lineup tonight after both missed the June 1 game at Colorado. Serioux was away for Canadian National Team duty, while Rocha served a one-game red card suspension.
Blake Wagner replaced Serioux in the 64th minute. It was Wagner’s first appearance in the back line this season after making eight starts on the left side of the midfield.
Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala (right hip), and midfielders Dax McCarty (left groin) and David Wagenfuhr (concussion) were not available due to injury.
Ray Burse started his second consecutive game in goal, making six saves.
This was the second straight game in which the opponent struck in the opening 10 minutes. Colorado scored against Dallas last week in the 7th minute.
FCD tonight allowed its first penalty kick attempt and goal of the season, converted by New England’s Steve Ralston in the 22nd.
Dallas is 1-5-1 this season when allowing the first goal of the game and 0-3-0 when trailing at halftime.
Tonight’s game preceded an international friendly between Brazil and Venezuela.
This was the fifth occasion since 2005 that FCD has played as part of an international double-header. Tonight’s game was the fourth time on the road, and the second at Gillette Stadium. FCD’s record in that span is 3-2-0; and 0-2-0 at Gillette.
FC Dallas returns home to face the Chicago Fire on Sunday, June 15 at 2 p.m. CT live on TeleFutura from Pizza Hut Park.
Marco Ferruzzi on the game: “New England is a very good team. They’re opportunistic. They got two goals in the first half, but we fought hard in the second half. We were organized; tactically we might have been a little bit better. The boys put everything they had into it. I think in the second half we had New England on their heels, and we might have been able to end up in a tie, but Matt Reis made some fantastic saves that kept them in the game. That was the difference.”
