Mr. Ronquillo was nominated to the commission by Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert. The mayor and other members of the Dallas City Council each appoint one person to the commission, with the final member appointed by the full council. Mr. Ronquillo’s term, which began May 30, 2008, continues through September 30, 2009.

The commission serves in an advisory role to the Dallas City Council, offering its recommendations on the selection, evaluation and compensation of municipal and administrative law judges in Dallas County.

“I am honored to have been selected by Mayor Leppert to fill this position,” says Mr. Ronquillo. “For most citizens, a municipal court may be the only courtroom they ever have to enter, so it is important we do all we can to ensure we have the most capable judges possible serving our citizens.”

Mr. Ronquillo has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART), Children's Medical Center, Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce and JPMorgan Chase.
