— Nina Hunter, an instructor at Art Institute of Dallas, won the "Let Them Eat Cake" decorating competition at NorthPark Center on Sunday.

Her cake received the highest votes from the judges, who included cookbook author Alice Medrich; wedding event specialist Donnie Brown; Bronwen Weber, executive pastry chef at Frosted Arts and frequent Food Network competitor; and chef Dunia Borga, co-owner of La Duni and Alo.

Hunter was one of six chefs who competed in the event, which took place this weekend at NorthPark Center. Partnered with sponsoring Nasher Sculpture Center, her cake had an upside-down mosaic theme, with pulled-sugar flowers and birds that matched the Nasher's china.

Winning the "people’s choice" was Morgan Wilson from the Ritz Carlton, who delivered a pretty cake with pastel pink roses.

I really liked the Crescent's cake. And the party was great! Little bites from some of the best chefs in town!
