Dalworthington Gardens real estate investor, mother to compete on Nashville Star
Melissa Lawson
Melissa Lawson, a real estate investor and mother of five, will get her chance at prime time stardom tonight when Nashville Star Season 6 premieres on NBC. From Dalworthington Gardens (just southwest of Arlington), Lawson has some experience singing country music, but put her musical aspirations on hold to start a family.
She is one of 12 finalist who will compete for the Star title before a panel of judges that include Jewel, Jeffrey Steele, and John Rich. Hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus, this is the first season of the series shown on NBC (previously on the USA Network).

Ugh! Who let John Rich sit in the judge’s chair?? He lost all credibility with me when he picked Julio Iglesias, Jr. as the winner of Gone Country.
I'm not sure if I am more impressed with her performance or the fact that she has five children.
