The City of Addison is having their biweekly City Council Meeting tonight. Preceding the meeting, the council members will hold a work session in which they will discuss the Fairfield Development Future Park Design Review and an update on the east-to-west Cotton Belt Rail Line. The regular session will include the following:

  • Consideration for members and alternates to the Board of Zoning Adjustment as well as discussion of a new appointee to the Planning & Zoning Commission as Jaime Gaines' first term on the commission expires on June 13.
  • The council will be considering approval of the purchase of street lights from Oncor Electric Delivery Company. The street lights will go in the median on Belt Line Road between Marsh Lane and the Dallas North Tollway. Seriously though, do they really need street lights to add to the glow of all the restaurant signs?
  • There will be a public hearing concerning an ordinance to approve develpment plans for a multi-family project located at 3900 Brookhaven Club Drive.
  • More this and that with Vitruvian Park, this time the council will be approving preliminary plats (aka - survey maps) on several of the lots.
  • Finally, the council will be approving and adopting the brand spankin' new Town of Addison Employee Handbook. I'm sure all employees of the city will dutifully read their employee handbooks once they get them, just like we all do.

The Trains at NorthPark Oh, no! Godzilla got into the Northpark train exhibit! But don't worry, the engineers will have it back up and running in time for your mall visit. And now, BEFORE the big holiday rush, is the best time to see them, before hundreds of drooling children take over the enclosure after Thanksgiving. More info
