Fort Worth-based XTO Energy to acquire Hunt Petroleum
It seems as if Fort Worth has finally won one battle with big brother Dallas: XTO Energy, based out of Fort Worth, announced this morning that they are acquiring Hunt Petroleum Corporation, which has its corporate offices in Dallas, for $4.19 billion worth of cash and stocks.
Given last night's contentious Barnett Shale hearing, one gets the feeling that some people might not be too happy that a major player in that area is extending its reach.
