Plano-based Bennigan’s alters menu, gives big push to mini-sandwiches

Why eat one regular size sandwich when you can eat four miniature sandwiches? It's like getting four for the price of one. Except that they're considerably smaller. They're wee! Wee little sandwiches.

Plano-based Bennigan's is getting fully behind the "slider" mini-sandwich trend by adding a section dedicated entirely to them on its updated menu.

Oh there are mini burgers, mini chicken sandwiches, and mini buffalo chicken sandwiches. Other new items: Irish Ale Queso, Stacked Chicken, Black & Bleu Burger, Angus Melt, Guinness Grill Fish & Chips, and Ultimate Buffalo Chicken Salad. Not sure if you noticed, but half of those six items feature BEER.

Say goodbye to these menu deletions: Bayou Chicken, Monterrey Chicken, Irish Pot Roast, BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Pita, Peppercorn Blue Cheeseburger Pita, Oriental Chicken Salad, Abby's Apple Sizzler, Chicken Stir Fry, Grilled Meatloaf, and Southwest Salmon.

"Irish Ale Queso"? Did the owners of Bennigan's consult with Lochrann's on the Irish-Mex fusion menu? On that note, I'm off to perfect my tequila Irish stew.
