For the next 18 months, the process of tearing down the old and putting up the new will be going on on the Texas Christian University campus so that the the AddRan College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Honors College can get into their promised new digs.

No word on whether Demolition Man will take part in the razing of the old student center

The Brown-Lupton Student Center and the building connecting it to Reed Hall will be demolished, or "razed," or "torn down," or "converted to a plot suitable for pushing up daisies." This process will begin on Sat. June 14 at 8 a.m. and continue for about two weeks. A claw-thingy will be used to break apart and remove the debris, piece by historical piece.

When the demolition is finished, the new construction part of the process can begin, with Scharbauer Hall being the lucky structure to be built on the site. This building - when completed approx. 18 months from now - will house several academic units including the AddRan College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Honors College.

Those wishing to observe the deconstruction process can best view it from the north side of the building between Jarvis and Foster Halls.
