The Texas Rangers scored five runs in the final two innings to avoid a loss to the most embarrassing franchise in baseball Tuesday, defeating the Kansas City Royals 6-5 in Kansas City. The win improves the Rangers to 33-33 on the year.

Is there anything more beautiful than whoever is playing the Royals?
Down 5-1 heading into the eighth, the Rangers were able to capitalize on an error by Royals first baseman Mark Teahen, scoring four unearned runs with two outs. Milton Bradley hit a two-run double, was knocked in by a David Murphy single, who would later score on a Chris Shelton single.
The winning run came in the ninth, however, when Ian Kinsler scored on a passed ball from pitcher Ramon Ramirez. Eddie Guardado got credit for the win, while C.J. Wilson got out of the ninth for his 12th save.
Rangers starter Kevin Millwood had a so-so game against the Royals, lasting six innings but giving up five runs off eleven hits. Millwood walked three and struck out five.
Michael Young extended his majors-best hitting streak to 23 games, just two shy of his career high, with a sixth-inning single. Milton Bradley also continued his hot streak with the RBI double, and is now leading the American League in hitting at .338.
Outfielder David Murphy's RBI single gave him 41 RBI on the season, which leads all American League rookies.

The Magnetic Fields Quartet led by songwriter Stephen Merritt is resolutely "indie" so how come their music has been used in a Volvo commercial and appeared in the film Lemony Snicket? More info

I haven't been enthusiastic over the Texas Rangers in years. Haven't been to the Ballpark, haven't watched them on TV. But this year, these guys are exciting. I have been tuning in each night to catch most of the games, on TV or radio.
Go Rangers.
PS: The Rangers need to relocate to downtown Dallas. Maybe the Reunion Arena site??

They still need pitching. Don't get too excited.

I concur with Dave. Especially since they had to release Sidney Ponson for being a douchebag. More often than not, defense wins championships. I'll be surprised if they're above 0.500 at the end of August.

It's sort of why I don't jump on the Josh Hamilton bandwagon as hard as everyone else. Look, I know he's supposedly jesus christo and all but they gave up a pretty good pitcher to get him. The Rangers are in no position to be giving up any pitching, especially ones with ERA's below 4.
I guess it's great he's leading the league in RBI's but who needs runs when you give up 50 runs a game?
