Hi everyone, just a reminder that the Overton Bluegrass Music Festival will be held June 13-14 at Overton City Park! Don't forget that we will be starting at 1 PM on Friday this year! We also wanted to mention that Saturday's starting time will be at 12 noon, not 12:30 as stated on the flyer. b. I received an email from club member Patrick Bouldin about a website that keeps a list of bluegrass jams. Take a look at http://www.bluegrassfever.com/bgfever/default.aspx . Patrick is looking for a volunteer to keep the Texas jam list current on the website. Please contact him if you're interested: pb@bouldin.org . Patrick also mentioned that his band, The Texas Prairie Band has disbanded.

d. (Repeat) Clubmember Larry Sholl is starting a jam session every other Thursday evening. All club members are invited. Larry lives in McKinney, TX west of Hwy 75 and north of Hwy 380. e. (Repeat) Kroger has cancelled its Share Card Program which had been a consistent source of limited revenue for the club. Kroger is replacing the Share Card Program with its Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program. As a 501 (c)(3) organization, the club is eligible to become part of this program. We will be submitting the application package to Kroger as soon as possible. When our application to Kroger is approved, we will pass information to all club members about how they may help generate donations to the club through grocery purchases at Kroger.

g. (Repeat) Southwest Bluegrass Club announcement:

1. The board of directors of the Southwest Bluegrass Club is considering the possibility of moving our meeting place to a location that better suits the needs of the membership. We are looking for a place that is close to the club’s demographic center (approximately the intersection of Hwy 183 and Hwy 360), has seating room for a larger audience (approximately 200-300), has adequate acoustics and stage, has separate rooms to accommodate jams and workshops as well as the regular meetings and is affordable to the club. All members are encouraged to help in the search for a new meeting place. This event should be viewed as an opportunity for folks to play with different folks and to be exposed to some different music.
