Beginning on Thurs. June 12 and continuing on Thursdays through July 10 (except for July 3 - too close to the 4th, I guess), the AFI Dallas Film Fest folks are hooking up with various Studio Movie Grill locations around the metromess to offer filmgoers a second chance at catching some of the award-winning film fare that played during the recent festival.
The June 12 screening will take place at the newest Studio Movie Grill in Dallas at Royal and Central, and will feature the Current Energy Earth Friendly Award Winner, Fields of Fuel - exploring a topic becoming more critical to us as the price of gasoline (and, from an environmental standpoint, gasoline consumption) continues to skyrocket. Fields plays at 5:30, followed (at 7:30) by Audience Award Winner Amal and - at 9:30 - by a screening of the winners in the Short category.
On Thursday, June 19, the venue changes to the SMG in Addison, where - at 5:30 - the Family Day Highlight film Jump! plays, followed at 7:30 by Target Ten Documentary Winner Iron Ladies of Liberia and at 9:30 by HD Net Feature Winner Tracing Cowboys.
Moving on to the SMG in Plano, June 26 finds Family Day Highlight movie Atom Nine Adventures on the bill at 5:30, followed by Target Ten Feature winner Mermaid at 7:30.
And finally - on July 10 at the SMG in Arlington - Audience Award Winner The Black List plays at 5:30, followed by the MPS Texas Film Winner Cook County at 7:30.
Free lunches? Pure fiction. Second chances? They occasionally do happen, so it seems.
