Denton man and wife honored for helping catch thieves

DENTON — Chief Roy Minter honored Mike Cordell, branch president of Denton’s Inwood National Bank, and his wife, Charlotte, at a gathering of police officers at a monthly intelligence meeting.

Cordell took pictures of a bank robber’s car license plate on April 3, and his wife, Charlotte Cordell, was honored for calling 911 in December and giving the license plate number of a man breaking into cars at the Cinemark Theater.

The thieves were apprehended in both cases almost immediately.
