Grapevine’s 2008 24th annual Main Street Days attracted 135,000 people
GRAPEVINE Approximately 135,650 people took part in Grapevine’s Outdoor Adventure during the 24th Annual Main Street Days on May 16-18. The attendance figure marked a modest two percent increase from last year’s former record attendance of 133,276.
2008 marked the third consecutive year for Main Street Days – Grapevine’s longest standing festival – to carry the Outdoor Adventure theme. Additions to this year’s event included the RidinRails show and a white lioness cub (an addition to the Royal White Tigers exhibit), which consistently drew large crowds throughout Main Street Days.
Other highlights included the competitive live music from the HUMMER and Bud Light stages, shoot-outs by the Grapevine Heritage Gunfighters, the KidZone area, and a host of first-hand adventures that came through a partnership between the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City’s Parks & Recreation Department.
Proceeds from Main Street Days benefit the Grapevine Heritage Foundation.
