The Red Blood Club played final show on Sunday night

The Red Blood Club, which announced their financial demise earlier this month, hosted its final show on Sunday night. Citing an inability to keep up with low attendance and the constraints placed on them, including the need to hire security officers between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., one of Dallas' few remaining punk clubs has met its demise.
Bar of Soap has already picked up at least one of RBC's upcoming shows, including Tuesday night's Dysrhythmia, Four Days to Burn, & Broadcast Sea concert.

How sad. Another club in Deep Ellum gone. The city of Dallas should be ashamed that they have let Deep Ellum die like this. This could have been our Beal Street, or 6th Street.
Maybe when the DART rail station opens next year, that will help revive Deep Ellum. Maybe the Dallas music scene will turn around. Maybe there will be more people in Deep Ellum at night then in the day again.....maybe....and maybe they won't be carrying Gap shopping bags and going to eat at Chili's on Elm in the old Trees location.....

I have a feeling mayor tom gets it when it comes to ellum, he sees it as a potential economic/entertainment generator for the whole city. I think the main issue right now is the DART line, once that goes live, the business will come back.

I think the city of Dallas wants DE to fail so that new developers can tear it down and build high-rise condos. Developers can't make money off of history.

Wow! I guess I have been out of the loop for awhile. Thanks for the update. Interesting to see Annino is still around. Interesting also that Madrini doesn’t want to “play nice” with him, but I will keep my suppositions to myself.
