After an unforgettable concert that kicked off summer in style, the Beach Boys return to the Meyerson to perform with the DSO as part of the 2008-2009 Pops Series. Concert is at 8:00 p.m. on September 5 and 7, and tickets range from $22 to $105.

Experience history in the making as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra formally introduces its new music director, Jaap van Zweden, to Dallas in September. Three illustrious works round out the month, featuring pieces by Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto; Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien; and Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony. Thursday, Friday and Saturday concerts begin at 8:00 p.m.; Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets range from $17 to $110
