DALLAS The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a policy amendment regarding management oversight of core district functions as part of effective governance at its March regular board meeting.
The amendment’s purpose is to ensure that district employees and others who engage in district-related business follow all relevant laws and regulations in letter and in spirit.
The superintendent of schools is to enforce ethics, conflicts of interest, disclosure, equal opportunity and financial audit policies set by the Board of Trustees and report results to the board. In addition, such oversight includes ensuring the integrity and performance of major district business systems through periodic reporting and performance metrics and through management oversight workshops at which the board will receive performance reports and other requested reports.
